5GB Free Online Storage

Google recently launched Google Drive which provides anybody with a Google (GMail, Google Talk, etc) account free 5GB of online storage space. There are more paid options which can be found at drive.google.com. Google Drive will be replacing the existing Google Docs service.

With MSN, Google and other major players jumping the band wagon for online storage, it could significantly affect the user database of players like Dropbox, BDrive, etc.

iPhone – Save on your anytime minutes using Magicjack app

Magicjack is a very cheap option for a landline. Not including the $40 cost the first year which includes one year of free calling to anywhere in US and Canada, it is a great saver for a person like me who does not have a landline from the regular telephone companies.

I am an iPhone user and many times than not I always end up using up my anytime minutes. Looking for an alternative option I came across Magicjack app. I installed it assuming that I could get calls made to my Magicjack number on my iPhone.

Windows Experience on iPad using OnLive Desktop

Working on an iPad by itself is a great experience. How about if you could also use to work on your Excel, Powerpoint and Word files? An app called OnLive Desktop makes it happen.

The first step would be to create an online account here as it not possible from your tablet. OnLive offers different plans which can be found at their website. As a regular home user I found the free plan more than enough to meet my needs.

Access your folders from anywhere using B Drive

Applications like Dropbox have made a big impact in the market. I am big user of Dropbox, unfortunately space restrictions have limited my usage. Every now and then I come to a situation where I have decide what to keep and what to remove. Not long ago, I came across B drive. B Drive functions like Dropbox with the difference that you will be hosting the files on your own.. somewhere on your PC or home server.

First step would be identify a location where you would like to store the files. This location would have to be on a computer which would remain “On” 24/7.
